When we reject the truth, delusion sets in. As I love the truth, I know Him. We are sanctified by the Holy Spirit and believe unto salvation. The Scripture frames what’s true! If I read the Bible before listening to the news, it will shape the way I am impacted by Jesus rather than the world and its concerns.
God does not wait for our situations to be resolved before He calls us forward. Suffering is never an identity. Often, it is in the midst of what seems irresolvable that Jesus calls us to lay down false identities and follow Him unto freedom.
In Judges, we see how confused the people had become in their worship, mixed with idolatry. Idolatry never thinks you are rejecting God. It just believes you are adding a support system to Him. We cannot add a lucky rabbit’s foot to our worship and expect God will respond. He is holy and needs no help from us. We cannot mix our Christian faith with idolatry and hope for a favorable outcome.Call me out of my grave! Take my heart of stone. I want a new heart.
