God’s Word is the highest authority. Steve and Diana talk about how God’s Word has the power to accomplish what it aims for. Even today, Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, interceding so that His Word will be fulfilled in the lives of believers. Even though His disciples were witnesses to the Truth, they could not communicate the Truth without the power of the Holy Spirit. Praise be to God, we have received the Holy Spirit!
Following Christ is only possible by the power of Holy Spirit. The requirement is death, but flesh cannot kill itself. It must yield to His glory. It is a glory to lose our life to gain Christ. We begin as believers and want to become disciples. Disciples learn to abide and receive the Word residing in them, unto a door of opportunity to become a follower, where we walk in His footsteps, denying ourselves, picking up His cross and following Him. Circumstances have no say over what God says.
