On August 27, 1982, Rickey Henderson of the Oakland Athletics broke Lou Brock's single-season stolen base record in a game against the Milwaukee Brewers at County Stadium in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Henderson, known for his incredible speed and baserunning skills, stole his 119th base of the season in the third inning off Brewers pitcher Doc Medich, surpassing Brock's record of 118 set in 1974. The game was briefly stopped as Henderson's teammates congratulated him on the field, and he was given the base as a souvenir.

The "Man of Steal" would go on to steal a total of 130 bases that season, setting a new single-season record that still stands today. Henderson's achievement was a testament to his dominance on the basepaths and his ability to disrupt opposing defenses.
