On November 3rd in sports history, one significant event that took place was the historic Game 6 of the 2016 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians.

The Cubs entered the game trailing the series 3-2 and needed a win to force a decisive Game 7. The game was filled with drama and tension from the very beginning. The Cubs took an early lead, but the Indians fought back and tied the game in the 8th inning. The game went into extra innings, and in the top of the 10th, the Cubs scored two runs to take a 8-6 lead.

However, the Indians refused to go down without a fight. In the bottom of the 10th, they scored a run and had the tying run on base with two outs. The Cubs brought in their closer, Aroldis Chapman, to try and secure the win. Chapman faced Indians batter Rajai Davis, who had already hit a game-tying home run earlier in the game.

On a 2-2 pitch, Davis hit a ground ball to third base. The Cubs' third baseman, Kris Bryant, fielded the ball cleanly and threw to first base for the final out of the game. The Cubs had won 8-7 in a thrilling extra-inning game, forcing a Game 7 and keeping their hopes of ending their 108-year World Series drought alive.

The game was filled with memorable moments, including a game-tying home run by Indians outfielder Rajai Davis in the 8th inning and a clutch RBI single by Cubs outfielder Ben Zobrist in the top of the 10th. The game lasted 4 hours and 28 minutes, making it the longest Game 6 in World Series history.

The Cubs would go on to win Game 7 in extra innings, ending their 108-year championship drought and cementing their place in baseball history.
