In the annals of American crime, few figures stand as infamous and enigmatic as H. H. Holmes, a 
cunning con artist and prolific serial killer who operated during the late 19th century. Dubbed "The 
Devil in the White City," Holmes' reign of terror spanned across the United States, leaving a trail of 
death and destruction in his wake. His crimes, motivated by greed and a lust for power, involved 
swindling, torture, and the murder of an estimated 200 to 300 people.
