Daniel Camargo Barbosa, also known as "The Sadist of the Charquito" or "The Monster of the Mangroves," was a Colombian serial killer who is considered one of the most prolific in history. He is believed to have raped and murdered over 150 young girls in Colombia and Ecuador between the 1970s and 1980s. Barbosa's crimes were characterized by their extreme brutality, and he often tortured his victims before killing them. He was eventually captured and convicted in Ecuador, and was sentenced to 16 years in prison. However, he was killed by fellow inmates in 1994, before he could serve out his full sentence.
