Gerald Eugene Stano was an American serial killer who murdered at least 41 young women and girls in Florida between 1971 and 1980. He was known as the "St. Augustine Strangler" because most of his victims were strangled. Stano was a sadistic killer who enjoyed inflicting pain on his victims. He would often torture them before killing them, and he would sometimes mutilate their bodies.
