But, then my kids would get home from school and I’d be so exhausted that the last thing I wanted to do was actually spend time with them – because I still needed to make dinner, clean the house, and finish what was left on my to-do list. It was an endless cycle of feeling busy, guilty, and overwhelmed – and if I didn’t have something to do, I made myself busy. It wasn’t until I figured out where my time was actually going that things started to click for me. All of a sudden, I had time again.I wasn’t opening my laptop up after the kids went to bed.I wasn’t trying to “disconnect” by scrolling my phone as soon as the kids got home.
