The Locked Room

Detective Sarah Pearson stood outside the locked room, her heart racing. Inside, the lifeless body of millionaire businessman, Victor Blackwell, lay sprawled on the floor. The room had no windows, and the only door was locked from the inside. It seemed like an impossible crime.

Sarah's partner, Detective Mike Thompson, arrived at the scene. "What do we have here?" he asked.

"Looks like a locked room mystery," Sarah replied. "Blackwell was found dead, shot in the chest. The door was locked, and there's no sign of forced entry."

As they investigated the room, Sarah noticed something peculiar: a small, round hole in the wall opposite the door. She examined it closely and realized it was the perfect size for a bullet.

The detectives questioned the suspects - Blackwell's wife, his business partner, and his personal assistant. Each had a motive, but none had access to the room at the time of the murder.

Sarah's mind raced as she tried to piece together the puzzle. Suddenly, it clicked. She turned to Mike and said, "I know how the killer did it."

She explained that the killer had used a specialized gun with a long barrel, fired from outside the room through the small hole in the wall. The bullet traveled across the room, striking Blackwell in the chest, and the killer sealed the hole with fast-drying plaster.

Upon confronting the suspects with this theory, Blackwell's business partner cracked. He confessed to the crime, revealing that Blackwell had discovered his embezzlement scheme and threatened to expose him.

Another case closed for Detective Sarah Pearson, thanks to her keen eye for detail and brilliant deductive skills.
