Frequently, the narrative feels like truncated scenes from a short-lived television show. Rather than delving into poignant moments or character arcs, Ultraman: Rising Soap2Day Watch Movies jumps straight to well-known plot aspects. The movie almost seems uneasy about its poignant moments, as though the filmmaker and writers are rushing to large dumb CGI displays out of discomfort rather than taking the time to fully appreciate what could both make the main characters likable and enhance the action. If there was spectacular battle during the fight scenes, this may be okay. The attempt to recreate the feel of the vintage TV show, even using computer animation from Industrial Light & Magic, detracts from the presentation's potential.
