"Psalm 118, one of the Hallel Psalms, is a Messianic Psalm prophesying the coming, death and resurrection of Jesus. According to Jewish custom, a Psalm from the Hallel Psalms is sung at the close of every Passover meal. Tradition has it that at the end of the Last Supper, Jesus and his disciples sang Psalm 118. The Psalm predicts Jesus’ imminent death. As he faced certain suffering he was able to sing, This is the day the Lord has made, let is rejoice and be glad in it."
