Ru: В подземном бункере Илья и Оксана прятались от суровой зимы.
En: In the underground bunker, Ilya and Oksana hid from the harsh winter.
Ru: Вокруг были полки с консервами, теплые одеяла и свечи.
En: Around them were shelves with canned goods, warm blankets, and candles.
Ru: Свет тусклый, словно в полумраке всегда был хранитель тишины.
En: The light was dim, as if there was always a keeper of silence in the twilight.
Ru: Илья каждый день проверял запасы, прижимая пальцы к списку из блокнота.
En: Every day, Ilya checked the supplies, pressing his fingers to the list from the notebook.
Ru: Он считал: хватит ли еды, хватит ли воды?
En: He counted: would there be enough food, would there be enough water?
Ru: Его занятая мысль всегда касалась выживания.
En: His occupied thoughts always concerned survival.
Ru: В это время Оксана любовалась маленькими снежинками, оседающими на окне бункера.
En: Meanwhile, Oksana admired the little snowflakes settling on the bunker window.
Ru: Она мечтала о празднике и думала, как сделать Новый год особенным.
En: She dreamed of a celebration and thought about how to make the New Year special.
Ru: "Илья, давай принесем немного радости здесь," предложила Оксана однажды вечером.
En: "Ilya, let's bring some joy here," Oksana suggested one evening.
Ru: Но Илья, нахмурившись, сказал: "У нас мало еды.
En: But Ilya, frowning, said, "We have little food.
Ru: Нам нужно тщательно использовать ресурсы.
En: We need to use resources carefully.
Ru: Зачем нам праздник, если мы не выживем?"

Ru: Оксана не обиделась.

Ru: Настал день нечаянной находки.

Ru: Они стали расчищать старый шкаф вглубине бункера, и что же они нашли?
En: They started clearing an old cabinet deep in the bunker, and what did they find?
Ru: Картонную коробку с золотыми гирляндами и маленькую бутылку шампанского.
En: A cardboard box with golden garlands and a small bottle of champagne.
Ru: Глаза Оксаны засияли, как эти самые гирлянды.
En: Oksana's eyes lit up like those garlands.
Ru: "Смотри, Илья!" воскликнула она.
En: "Look, Ilya!" she exclaimed.
Ru: "У нас будет праздник!"
En: "We will have a celebration!"
Ru: Илья тоже удивился.
En: Ilya was surprised as well.
Ru: Он посмотрел на Оксану и впервые почувствовал, что может быть не все должно быть строго и по расписанию.
En: He looked at Oksana and for the first time felt that not everything had to be strict and by the schedule.
Ru: Он задумался о том, что эмоциональная поддержка и радость могут быть так же важны, как и физическое выживание.
En: He pondered that emotional support and joy could be just as important as physical survival.
Ru: В канун Нового года бункер преобразился.
En: On New Year's Eve, the bunker was transformed.
Ru: Гирлянды светились тепло, шампанское тихо вскрылось.
En: The garlands glowed warmly, the champagne quietly uncorked.
Ru: Они сидели вдвоем, согретые не только одеялами, но и надеждой.
En: They sat together, warmed not only by blankets but also by hope.
Ru: Наступил полуночный час.
En: The midnight hour arrived.
