Topic: A BROKEN VESSEL - THE GLORY OF DIFFERENCE (Part 3)!
Memory Verse: "...As He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head" - Mark 14:3 NKJV
Bible Text: 2 Timothy 2:20-21 NKJV
20. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.
21. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.
INSPIRATION: Our focus today is centred on Apostle Paul statement, "There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory" (1 Cor 15:41). Believers must learn to appreciate and celebrate their differences, and not try to be similar. Your difference makes you unique; it adds beauty to your life. Your difference to others doesn't make you of less value, it establishes your uniqueness.
Carry yourself with dignity, knowing how valuably different you are. Stop feeling inadequate in comparison to others. A broke person dwells on comparison and strives towards similarity, and so misses very unique opportunities to leverage on his differences as his unique selling point. A broken person, on the other hand, could weave intricate and strategic partnerships by harnessing the potentials of persons different from him to forge ahead.
Where such a synergy as described above exists, the beauty and successes that come with it are beyond description. Their differing glories build up into a beautifully colourful edifice of glory. Believers must learn to celebrate their differences and explore the opportuunities to advance that comes with it. You don't have to lose your uncommon difference trying to be like others. That's inferiority complex and the worst kind of self-debasement and deprecation.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
See the below scriptures about the danger of comparison. Then, decide if you're wise or not: "For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise" (2 Corinthians 10:12 NKJV).
PRAYER: O Lord, please deliver me from the snare of comparison; teach me to be content with my difference as my unique selling point, and help me to leverage on it to drive strategic partnership that are mutually beneficial, in Jesus name.
