Topic: A NEW KIND OF GOVERNANCE: DIVINE COUNSEL (Part 3)!
Memory Verse: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel" - Isaiah 7:14 KJV
Bible Text: Isaiah 9:6 KJV
6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
INSPIRATION: John points us to Jesus as the Way (John 14: 6). He cannot be the Way and guide you through a path that leads nowhere. He cannot be the Way and you'll be bereft of counsel. Jesus, as your Counsellor will not guide you through a path He doesn't know. He doesn't do guess work. He says, "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it" (Isa. 30:21).
God will guide you through very sure and steady paths; He'll help you navigate difficult choices and lead you where you should go. Incline your ears and get divine direction always. Often, we tend to think we know the terrain and have mastery of the art of businesses we do, but at certain times, you'll feel the need for a stronger and higher presence to guide you. That higher presence is none other than Jesus.
Isaiah 11: 2 tells us the spirit of counsel rests on Him. He says, "Follow me and I will make or teach you" (Matt. 4: 19). Never think you're sufficient in yourself to deal with life's many ordeals. Rather lean on the Holy Spirit to guide and order your steps. That's the secret to a life of surpassing success that is divinely orchestrated.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Knowledge has its limitations. That's why you can do with some sound counsel every once in a while. Jesus is the custodian of divine counsel. Allow His advice work in your life and get you settled.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, whenever I feel so overwhelmed with life's pressure and unable to choose right, may Your loving counsel guide and pull me through to a safe place, in Jesus name.
