Topic: A THOROUGH SELF-AUDIT!
Memory Verse: "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?" - 2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV
Bible Text: Luke 2:44 NIV
44. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.
INSPIRATION: In accounting, there's no room for assumptions. If you base your computation on assumptions, you'd never get a balanced account. Most often, those seemingly insignificant errors are spotted during audits. When last did you carry out a thorough audit on yourself? Adam and Eve didn't audit their processes very well but fell for the assumption they'd become like God and they lost the garden!
Samson assumed his powers were still there when he allowed the locks of his hair to be cut. He realised too late death was close by! How do you explain the flop of Jesus's parents' negligence? Travel a whole day without your child, yet you didn't realise? The damaging cost of negligence is only imaginable!
But we've done worse and covered our errors with assumptions! Sadly, there's no assumption in the realm of the spirit. You're either in alignment or you suffer the consequences. Examine yourself. Are there grey areas you need to straighten out? Be honest with yourself, else you may never break free from the consequences of your assumptions.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Never allow assumptions ruin the beautiful life that lays ahead of you. Pay attention to details and leave nothing to chance.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I receive grace not to live on costly assumptions that may leave me with consequences to grave to bear. I receive grace to be thorough and to keep paying attention to details in all of my endeavours, in Jesus name.
