Topic: LEAD WITH A PLAN (Part 2)
Memory Verse: "You may make your plans, but God directs your actions" - Proverbs 16:9 GNT
Bible Text: Proverbs 19:21 GNT
21. People may plan all kinds of things, but the Lord's will is going to be done.
INSPIRATION: Sometimes I find it puzzling to see young men with well rehearsed lines to woo a woman but soon get thrown off balance when asked what their plans are for the relationship. As it is with asking a woman out, so it is about life in general. Be able to articulate your plans in clear terms. Eliminate all forms of ambiguity. Rework it over and over until it becomes 'S.M.A.R.T' enough for implementation. Your plan is your road map to a targeted end.
Your plan should include your to-do-lists that can help you arrive at a determined outcome. A good plan always has the big picture in view. What's your big picture for this year? It is wisdom to commit your plans to God because He directs your actions. Don't get too smart in your planning that you leave God out. Because outside the help of God, all plans come to futility. Don't embark on white elephant plans and projects that look so glamorous outwardly but so shallow and devoid of real substance internally.
Failure to plan is an invitation to disaster. A plan guides and guards you through all levels of involvement in the execution and actualisation of your goals. Your plan must imclude a method statement for each step or phase of execution, and your mitigation strategy for the unforeseen. A good plan should cover a thorough risk and SWOT (strengths weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis. Planning is practical, not faith rhetorics.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Your plan should task you mentally to pull out the best in you. And in a real business plan, budget should be the last or least factor so you don't limit your creative instinct to the funds at your disposal. Be creative in your imagination. Think wild.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please help me to reorganise my priorities through properly ordered planning that's backed up with adequate actions this year. I want to live a life of steady results through thorough and effective planning. Breathe upon my mind and thought processes and guide me to my desired goals, in Jesus name.
