Self-awareness, like self-drive, is a powerhouse! Once you come into this reality of superpower, you become a self-starter, that can do unimaginable and amazing things. At this phase, your life is not powered by the valediction of others or the lack of it. One thing that happens so significantly for you, is that you lose the ability to doubt or second guess yourself. Your joy is no longer triggered by whether people treat you rightly or wrongly, but by the knowledge of who and whose you are!
Anyone who lives with this consciousness, has weaponised their knowledge and wear it as an armour of defence to protect them against whatever life throws at them. In that state, they can say, "but none of these moved me." Self-awareness can make you dare the impossible, but on the flip side, it confines you to your limits. This is self-mastery, a tool or virtue that shields you from undue pressure to impress; a tool to deliver you from public embarrassments.
Self-awareness can warn you of impending danger instinctively. But beyond this, it fills your mind with beautiful pictures of whom you are. The Psalmist wrote, "...Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord! You're a marvellous piece of creation to behold, stunning and breathtaking. Thinking of this and knowing how thoroughly God knows you, builds in you the kind of confidence, mixed with a tinge of defiance that drives the devil silly. You had better know yourself!
