We all have been stung by pain, faced defeat, encountered losses in the past and processed the emotions that follow differently. It is therefore insensitive to make light of anyone's plight in their moment of grieve. Pain is real; its cut, to a varying depth and width, can change the direction of anyone's life. Therefore, deal wisely with anyone going through a pain!
However, we must not wear our pain as a garment before it can appear real. Have a bleeding heart, be a wounded lion, if that's what it is, but show up ready to deal; take on life with a new zest, a determination, a courage that confuses everyone. Be willing to try again, in spite of your knockdowns!
David acted differently by encouraging and strengthening himself in the LORD. That's the spirit of someone who's conquered his pain. You shouldn't look like the storm you go through; you needn't smell like the hell you're in to get sympathy. Bleed, but take on your next fight like David!
The number of your scars are the numbers of your victory! Don't let one tough battle stop the increase of your victory trophies!
