Topic: DROP SOME STICKS!
Memory Verse: "Therefore he said, 'Pick it up for yourself.' So he reached out his hand and took it" - Kings 6:7 NKJV
Bible Text: 2 Kings 6:5-6 NKJV
5. But as one was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed.”
6. So the man of God said, “Where did it fall?” And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.
INSPIRATION: Never in my life have I felt such compulsion to minister to people dealing with loses, especially, those that are inexplicable, yet huge. When loses or misfortune occur, the tendency to despair is always so high. And worse of, is when it leaves you in a state of confusion. One of the sons of the prophet had lost a borrowed axehead in a bid to expand their dwelling, and he cried out to Elisha.
When you suffer loses, what is usually your first line of action? Here, all his investments and vested interests got lost where it seemed impossible to ever recover it. What a great tragedy that was! When life hits you so hard, you must have someone you can run to who looks out for you. Elisha didn't scold him like many of us would; he swung into action and did the unexpected! He cut a stick and threw it right where the axehead fell.
Real lasting solution goes back to the roots or origin of a problem. Right that minute, the axehead floated! Can I announce to you that it's time to drop some sticks that would float and recover your loses! Your sticks here, is symbolic of a divine prompting, an inspired conviction to act in certain ways, whether conventional or otherwise. Be sure to have a clear lead, and watch God float your iron!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Miracles and speedy recovery still happens, especially, when we follow the Lord's leading. Mind you, God's prompting may not always be conventional, yet the results always leaves us in awe of His Splendour.
PRAYER: O Lord, I decree that everything that represents a lost axehead in my life is recovered as I follow Your leading and drop my sticks, in Jesus name.
