Description

Everybody prays but not everyone understands why they do or what their prayer does. Hence, they remember to pray only when there's a need they can't yet figure out by themselves. According to scriptures, prayer aligns our lives to glorify the name of the Lord (Matt. 6: 9 TPT); it is a dialogue with God, where we produce our strong reasons why our petitions must be granted (Isa. 41: 21).

Prayer aims to change us first from within before it changes our situation; it changes our orientation and worldview, helping us to gain broader perspective. It elevates our thinking and stretches our faith to see and believe possibilities beyond the realm of humanity to the divinity. It is at this realm that you enforce decrees as a watchman (Dan. 4: 17). No wonder Job says you shall make a decree and it shall be established (Job 22: 28).

Prayer puts God in remembrance of His Word over your life (Isa. 43: 26). Does this make God forgetful that He should now be reminded? Not at all! Rather, it's a pointer to your knowledge of your covenant rights as a believer. It follows therefrom that to effectively pray, you must know and back up your prayer with God's word because God would do nothing outside His word. Hallelujah!
