Description

Jesus taught us to watch and pray. Regrettably, we're very good at praying but poor at watching. But it's at the watch hour that we receive answers, instructions and directions. Habakkuk says, 'I will stand upon my watch to see what He would say unto me..." (Habb. 2:1). Prayer is ineffective until we see and hear what He says to us. That's where winning secrets are delivered; that's the furnace on which great destinies are forged.

You see? The dialogue of prayer is one thing many people are not ready for, but that's where the dynamics that separate and differentiate those who have answers on their prayer altar from those who don't. Effective prayer is not a monologue where you dish out requests or instructions to God to fix. Interestingly, God is more interested in fixing us first than he is in fixing the things we ask in prayer.

When last did you hear God's voice in your prayer closet? Did what He said to you address the needs for which you went to pray? Does your prayer time have elements of dialogue between lovers? I wonder what lover there is who wouldn't want to hear their partner's voice! Alas! That's what we do to God. We fill the atmosphere with our needs but won't spare a tiny fraction of our time to hear Him say something to us. A one-sided relationship is unhealthy and may soon lose its spark.
