Topic: GLORY IN YOUR DIFFERENCE!
Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 15:41 KJV
41. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
INSPIRATION: When a council of Kings gather, we see a body of many crowns, each with a unique personality, attributes, powers and influence, etc. Whilst some are rated first-class traditional rulers, others belong to other tiers in the cadre. Yet, it doesn't in any manner detract from their royalty in their own rights as kings over their kingdoms and domains. This is so profound as it speaks to the peculiar challenge of personal insecurity, low self-esteem and inadequacy that some people have.
Whilst we're encouraged to strive to be better versions of ourselves, comparing yourself to others and developing feelings of inadequacy and poor self-esteem is not a wise choice (2 Cor. 10:12). The sun, moon and stars have different glories they radiate. So are we. Our manifestations are a function of our depth in God and the measure of grace released upon us (Eph. 4:7), according to our several abilities (Matt. 25:15). Interestingly, your powers are not in your uniformity to others but in your difference from them.
What the above implies, is that your unique selling point is where your glory is. Your manifestation is given for the profit of others (1 Cor. 12:7). What is that thing you do differently so well from other people? What's that special skill you have that sets you apart from others and makes you treasured and wanted? How do you deploy your talents and apply your crafts in your services to God and humanity? What do people miss the most about you? That's where your glory lies.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Find out the things you do so effortlessly and efficiently. Improve on them. Discover new passion-triggers and develop interest in those areas. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal your unique glory and how He wants you to use it.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, open my eyes to the reality of my unique difference and give me the wisdom to accept and celebrate the discoveries. Help me to deploy same to your glory as You deliver me from the bondage of comparison that leads to poor self-worth. I embrace my uniqueness and shine your glory everywhere I go, in Jesus name.
