Topic: IDENTITY & BEHAVIOURAL ETIQUETTE (Part 3)!
Memory Verse: "But if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth" - 1Timothy 3:15 NKJV
Bible Text: Leviticus 18:2-3 NKJV
2. “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘I am the Lord your God.
3. According to the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and according to the doings of the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances.
INSPIRATION: Paul's argument, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Cor. 5:17), sets the tune for today's devotionals. Being new suggests a change in our operational manual! You cannot run the new package on obsolete softwares; you cannot operate the ideologies, principles and philosophies of the old system and expect a different result. In this new order, we live by faith, not be sight (Rom. 1: 17; Heb. 10: 38). Here, we're governed by love, not hate. Boldness rule over fear; sound mind over insecurities of low self-esteem (2 Tim. 1: 7).
Paul says further, "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me" (1 Cor 13:11). Now is the time to begin manifesting your new identity. Consciously remind yourself who you are and behave in ways that align to your identity. Disrupt the old order by asserting the authority and authenticity of your new identity. Disband mediocrity in embrace of excellence. Let the king in you be seen and felt. Give life and colourful impetus to the things you do!
You're a genius; act smart! You're a giant killer; quit being obscured. You're light; refuse to be overshadowed by darkness. You're salt; add flavour to a tasteless and bland world. The world eagerly awaits your manifestation (Rom. 8: 19); may they not wait in vain or be disappointed at your showing. Stop living below your means for all the deposits of graces and potentials God has endowed you with, and coupled with your trainings and exposure in life. Don't mask who you are when the world around is looking for you to shape their reality. You've an identity the world is aware of; you can't hide no more!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Upholding the mindset of your past or the traditions of your future may not align with God's plans for bringing you into the new experiences. Rather than assume, find out His agenda for the new you and follow its prescription to the latter.
PRAYER: O Lord, .please give me clarity of understanding into what is required of me in my new experiences and give me the grace to follow through on them, in Jesus name.
