Topic: IMPLICATED FOR MORE (Part 2)!
Memory Verse: "Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled" - John 6:26 NKJV
Bible Text: Exodus 3:3-4 NKJV
3. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
4. So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
INSPIRATION: Following the aftermath of the miracle of the burning Bush and Jesus' feeding of the multitude, it is obvious that there's more to a miracle than we ascribe to it. A miracle should point you back in the direction of God. As soon as Moses turned aside to see the unconsumed bush, God caught his attention and spoke!
God is still craving our attention today like He did with Moses and the multitude that Jesus fed. That attention is very important to God and it should be more important to you as well. God has nothing to lose if He refuses to give you a miracle but you have everything to lose if you get stuck at the instance of a miracle and couldn't get intimate with God.
Miracles should inspire you to a deeper personal relationship with God; it should drive you to the heart of God, reveal His love and agenda; miracles diffuse the fragrances of God's graces, communicates His mercies in ways that our hearts are smitten and stirred up to seek the Lord; a miracle is God's tool for revival, and an essential reason He implicates you in one. So when next you desire a miracle, have these at the back of your mind as the aftermath.
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Discern God's intent for initiating a miracle and don't be caught up in the frenzy of its temporary physical benefits while the most enduring spiritual benefits are lost due to your insensitivity. Desire to know the ways of God more than you know His acts.
PRAYER: O Lord, please help me to know You more intimately than ever; satisfy this longing in me so much so that I don't get stuck with physical handouts at the expense of developing a deeper personal relationship with You, in Jesus name.
