Topic: LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON (Part 7)!

Memory Verse: ‭‭"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed" - Proverbs 13:20 KJV

Bible Text:  ‭‭‭‭‭ Luke 15:14-15 KJV

14. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

INSPIRATION: Who you join yourself to and the places you go to will determine your trajectory or retrogression in life. Whilst we do not encourage you to despise anyone, you must realise that if you do not wisely choose those you associate with and allow to influence you, you'd soon become like any other man other than your original self (Judg. 16: 17). Associate with people who can help chisel your rough edges, people who can motivate and inspire you to aspire to be more in life.

Have the presence of mind and fortitude to reject offers and suggestions that do not align with your purpose in life, if you must keep yourself from falling from grace to grass. Going to feed pigs was a misdirection of purpose for a man with his pedigree. It was neither a promotion or an explorative venture to divest his business interest. Under intense pressure, we must determine not to settle for less. Royalty and feeding of pigs to the point of eating pig's food shouldn't be associated with same person. Never!

His discomfort was not a disruptive plan to pull a fast one to rise to a new level of graceful manifestation; it was embracing defeat and personalising it to himself. We must set boundaries of things we must never allow. Without scrupples, anything goes, values are compromised, destinies are traded off or sacrificed on the altar of survival. Do not damage yourself in the quest to blend in. It's your uniqueness that stands you out, not your similarity. So stand tall and firm in defense of what you believe in, not what others make you do.

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

Have high tastes but ensure your choices and decisions are governed by principles and values that align with God's standards. Be bold to reject anything on the contrary.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, please deliver me from making the wrong turn in life, whether in business, career, investments, relationship or ministry. Deliver me from the arrogance of improper planning before execution of any project and help me not to lose my true identity in pursuit of vainglory, in Jesus name.
