The harsh realities of our everyday life tends to support reasons why anyone should look back. Uncertainties and unpleasantness abound, leaving the hearts of men weary and their shoulders fallen. Man is faced with choices and dilemmas like Lot's wife, whether to go forward or beat a retreat backwards. She chose the latter and her once glorious life ended as a monument in history for bad choices. Hence, the bible warns us, "Remember Lot's wife" (Luke 17: 32).
Those who draw back face destruction! Luke say they're not fit for God's kingdom. The inability and incapability for endurance steals their glory moments and rubs them of their rewards. To draw back shows how fickle your convictions were; it portrays you as one who cannot take a licking and keep on ticking. That is, you're not tough, and can't endure or have the capacity to absorb stress or damage, and still be able to function. Life delivers results only to those with firm resolve like Job, "
