Topic: MOVE BEYOND THIS!
Memory Verse: “The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:" - Deuteronomy 1:6 KJV
Bible Text: John 5:7 KJV
7. The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
INSPIRATION: Life is a compendium of events and reactions, some of which leave us stuck on the same level for far too long. But whether we agree or life, things will always happen. However the choice is entirely yours to make how you allow the event to impact and shape your future. The view that someone should always help us has kept many from reaching their best possible potentials. This is not a medium to promote self-reliance because that has been the biggest setback for most people.
The impotent man's response to Jesus was, "Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool...!" I dare to challenge you that you don't always need a man to pick you up from a fall; you don't need a man to quit a toxic workplace or relationship that's messing with your mental wellbeing; you don't need a man to pursue self-development programs; you don't need no man to get your life back on track. Our over dependence on others put our responsibilities on them rather than us! Take responsibility for yourself. Man up!!
Putting your responsibility squarely on your expected support systems makes you turn in cycles, having motions without real progress. So God says to Israel, "You can't get ahead with this mindset. You've dwelt long enough here. It's time to move!" It's your time to change strategy. The old one has become obsolete. There're new ideas that makes you more competitive, visible and worth taking seriously. Repackage yourself and relaunch. Make that move now!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Life will take you more seriously once you quit lame excuses. The more you dwell on the corridors of excuses, the more of an appalling excuse of a human being you become.
PRAYER: O Lord, help me to move beyond the feel good experiences of offering excuses why I'm not my best to taking pragmatic and strategic actions to correct any defect in my life and operations. Help to see the bigger picture and opportunities that could be beclouded by excuses, in Jesus name, Amen.
