Our scripture opens with a provocation to self consciousness by the author that he's fearfully and wonderfully made, but first, he deflected to praise God! My focus is on his acknowledgement. I must always affirm to myself that I'm beautiful in and out; that I'm endowed with graces and gifts that stand me out; that I'm not a failure, but a carrier and giver of joy, hope and goodness.
I insist that my gifts make room for me (Prov 18: 16) ; Kings and queens nurse me (Isa 49: 23), therefore I lack nothing (Ps. 23:1) but abound in all things (2 Cor. 9:8). I affirm I'm sound in health and strong in might and mind. I'm rich in grace, alive in Christ and sit with Him in heavenly places (Eph. 2: 4-6); I'm a man wondered at, a branch plucked out of fire (Zach. 3: 2, 8). I'm a terror to darkness.
I overcome the world (1 John 5:4), greater is He who lives in me (1 John 4: 4), so I'm not afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; nor the infectious disease that walks in darkness; nor the wasteful destruction at noonday (Psalm 91:5-6). I've dominion and rule over my mind, environment and career. I've great dreams and capacity to achieve all things. Hallelujah!
