Topic: QUENCH YOUR THIRST NOW!
Memory Verse: "Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him" - Ephesians 5:18 AMP
Bible Text: John 7:37-38 NKJV
37. On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
38. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
INSPIRATION: Over the last few days or weeks, we've gone through several series on how to experience and enjoy glorious manifestations, and it's been an awesome experience. Today, God would have us consider a key topic: "Quench Your Thirst Now," by adding a layer of building blocks on all we've dealt with over time. It is no secret that a lot of us have an inner longing for more. We desire to see more of God's glory, an overflow of his blessings, walking in the supernatural and witnessing the miraculous, etc.
How so wonderful it is to have such feelings and desires. Interestingly, Jesus offers a solution: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink." You should not just desire it, you must come for a drink! A lot of believers want to experience the supernatural but don't want to follow Jesus's prescription. You won't get the experience except you come and drink! Jesus's teaching points us thus, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matt. 5:6). The blessedness is not that you hunger but that you're filled! To fill your thirst, you must go for a conscious, deliberate drink.
You must plan your feeding diet with God: drink of the Holy Spirit, drink of the Word, drink of the fellowship of God's presence, drink of the revelational insight he inspires your heart with, etc. The overflow will not come when you're empty, devoid of spiritual sensitivity and drained of the appetite for more. God will only fill you to the capacity that you open yourself up to him. Rivers of manifestation will not flow out of your heart or belly except you determine to quench that thirst. The moment is yours; seize it!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Determine whether you're satisfied at your current level of manifestation or you want more. Take the prescription of Jesus more seriously; thirst and drink more. Go deeper in God. Pray intensely in the Holy Spirit. Build a personal fellowship altar with the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please quench my thirst and fill me till I burst out with the overflow of your deposits in me. Cause every step I take towards aligning with the Father at a deeper, more intimate relationship yield a hundredfold result, in Jesus name.
