Description

As we approach the first day in August, and the last five months of the year, God would have me speak to us on the need to repent. That is, to turnaway! You'd be totally wrong if you approach this topic from a traditional bias that tends to make you wax defensive that you're not a sinner, nor have you sinned to necessitate a call to repentance. That religiosity!

To repent simply means to turn away from! It is to think differently; to change your mind! Many of us have had our minds fixed on the wrong things, approaching issues an obsolete, chaotic position that leaves us agitated and devastated by the results we get. We keep applying a wrong formula to problem-solving and arriving at a wrong answer. Repent!

The traditional sense in which John asked the people to repent, was to turn back up to their elevated status from whence they fell. Before the fall of Adam, he reigned in glory. To repent therefore, is to climb back to that esteemed position of authority and glory before the fall; to return to the top in your capacity to deliver excellent results. There's so much at stake that you can't do from a fallen, debased state. So, repent!
