There's little or nothing we can do in the absence of peace. Peace is a bedrock for development. It is instructive to know and acknowledge that the kind of peace referred to here isn't a life without storm, but your ability to maintain maxima composure while going through a storm. That kind of peace can only come from God, and your knowledge of His promises.
That's the kind of peace Paul prayed for. God's peace poured without measure into you in every circumstance and all possible ways. The peace that stabilises you when others are rocked by the turbulence of life; the peace that helps you take a licking and keep on ticking; the peace to be tough; to have endurance; to have the capacity to absorb stress or damage, but still be able to function; peace that sees you through hell or high waters without breaking a sweat.
There's a limit you can go without God. His presence makes all the difference. Moses would say, "Take us no further except you come with us." He knew the power and peace that comes with God's presence is crucial to their journey's success if they must get to the promised land. Do not neglect God's peace and presence if you want to arrive at yours.
