Topic: SCARS? POINTERS TO MY STAR & VICTORY (Part 5)!
Memory Verse: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." - Isaiah 53:5 KJV
Bible Text: Isaiah 9:5 KJV
5. For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
INSPIRATION: Today, Joseph is in the witness box. He told his brothers his dream and they hated him (Gen. 37:5). The scars of hatred were beginning to get more pronounced after he was gifted a coat of many colours. Sibling rivalry has caused untold pain and derailed many destinies today, leaving many with scars and wounds that may never heal. Joseph had his future before him: his special coat was more than another gift of clothing, it prophetically indicated the beauty his destiny holds.
But in a dramatic twist, he was sold off into slavery! Navigating from a coat of many colours and a lofty dream, to being thrown into a pit and later sold off by one's brothers definitely left a big scar on him. Yet, God used a well scripted evil plot to advance Joseph's destiny. Whilst God may not be the architect of our scars, He can use same for His purposes and our good (Gen. 50: 20; Rom. 8: 28).
Do not sulk over your scars when dreams are waiting for your interpretation; do not wallow in despair and bitterness because of that heartbreak when your best is disguised in your "setback" and waiting for you to unwrap it with a positive and affirmative action. Your scars may be destiny's vehicle to launch you into purpose. Like Joseph, do not abort the processes to your many victories because of that scar. Series of bad experiences will never be good enough reasons to quit on yourself!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
There're glories beyond your scars that you must not allow the temporary setbacks of any scar obscure forever. Give legitimacy to your dreams and be the catalyst that gives expression and interpretation to the dreams of others. A Potiphar, a Bottler, a Pharaoh and the nations need the you that emerges after your scars!
PRAYER: O Lord, help me to see the bigger picture always and to stay steadfast to the cause of my destiny. May no scar derail me or scheme subvert me. Give me a large, loving and forgiving heart like Joseph, and may my scars bring me more stars and victories, in Jesus name.
