Topic: SCARS, STAR & VICTORY (Part 3)!

Memory Verse: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." - Isaiah 53:5 KJV

Bible Text: Isaiah 9:5 KJV

5. For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

INSPIRATION: Life always finds a way of throwing spanners in the wheels of our progress. Abraham was referred to as a friend of God in scriptures and ascribed the title, Father of Faith. But he had scars! His inability to father a child for 25yrs in spite of God's promises, and the eventual birth of Ismael, were two incidences that should never be associated with him, judging by our human standards of how to relate with God.

Looking back, what does it feel like to wait on God's promises for 25yrs? How could he be called a friend of God and Father of faith yet, he couldn't father a child at 99yrs? Abraham's story points us to the not-too-talked-about truth of our Christian walk -  being in Christ does not take away all of our problems; it only equips us with graces to weather life's storms differently.

Abraham kept believing when it appeared pointless to so do. But at the end, he birthed God's promise! He birthed Isaac, from whom children as many as the sands by the seashore and the stars in the sky were born. With Isaac, came trophies that made his scars pale into insignificance. It doesn't matter how long it takes, God's promises stand sure. Hold on firmly to what He's said to you. He will remember you and turn the tide in your favour sooner than you thought possible, in Jesus name.

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

Life would test you on many scores, and possibly leave you with an excruciating pain, or an unforgettable scar. Stay focused on the prize ahead till you take hold of your trophies. Then, your scars would turn to royal diadem. For every scar, there're more stars waiting to stick to your crown. So press on with determination.

PRAYER: O Lord, please help me to see the glory behind my scars; show me the beauty that's veiled by my scars, and keep my mind always in your perfect peace while I navigate the changes and turning seasons or my life, in Jesus name.
