Genesis tells us two very catchy stories that inspires our thoughts for today. Firstly, God brings all he created to Adam, and whatever Adam called them became their name (Gen. 2: 19). Secondly, God takes Eve out of Adam and brings her to him. Seeing her, he said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man" (Gen. 2:23). In both instances, we see introductions taking place: Adam goes on to introduce them to their nature and characteristics, and they took on that nature till date. Superb and powerful insights, if you ask me.
Then, God introduces Jeremiah to himself saying, "I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jere.1:5). That introduction brings Jeremiah into a new order for his life. You, too has what you've been separated and ordained for. Have you been introduced to it yet? If yes, has it taken its nature and characteristics like everything Adam named took theirs? As you ponder on this, Matthew tells us, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid" (Matt. 5:14). You see? There's more to you than you're crediting yourself for.
