Topic: THE MOVE OF GOD'S GLORY (Part 2)!
Memory Verse: "The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up" - 1 Samuel 2:6 NKJV
Bible Text: 1 Samuel 2:7-8 NKJV
7. The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.
8. He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them.
INSPIRATION: I'd like to start by warning that today's message is not one of convenience. God is set to prune his own and kill every trace of misalignment in us that doesn't glorify Him. He kills and makes alive! The axe is laid to the foot of the tree and every branch in us that's unfruitful will be cut off. He will cast down all inordinate thoughts and negative imagination.
The Holy Spirit is on a purification journey; He wants to sanctify to Himself a people set aside for His glory. This glory will not rest on filth, the vessel has to be pure. Enough of practicing Christianity with convenience and making excuses with our childish indiscretion. Revelation says I will spit you out if you're neither cold nor hot (Rev. 3:15-16). Lukewarnness is not a fruit of the Spirit, neither is it a gift of righteousness.
You cannot want or desire to manifest God's glory in the public whereas everything about your private life stinks and is filled with all kinds of unimaginable evil that you can't even see amongst unbelievers. The bible standard and warning still remains, "Let everyone that is called by the name of the Lord depart from evil (2 Tim. 2:19).
God's judgment is coming and will catch someone off guard for a public disgrace if you fail to heed this warning. You cannot defy your body which is the Lord's temple and cry for his glory to manifest. His jealous anger will consume you! His anger is slow in coming but it will surely grind to your doorsteps and consume you. God is still a consuming fire. "For our God is fire that wasteth" (Heb. 12:29 WBMS). Don't wait till He wastes you!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Purge yourself of every act of unrighteousness. Examine your life under God's light. Be careful how you handle God's vessel and His purposes over your life. Pray more in the Spirit to stimulate and usher in God's move in your life.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please move in and purge and prune my life to fit into your scope for me. I choose not to attract the anger of God due to careless lifestyles but God's mercies redeems me, in Jesus name.
