Topic: THE MOVE OF GOD'S GLORY (Part 3)!
Memory Verse: "The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up" - 1 Samuel 2:6 NKJV
Bible Text: 1 Samuel 2:7-8 NKJV
7. The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.
8. He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them.
INSPIRATION: The revelation of God's glory is often a defining moment in the lives of those who encounter Him. You cannot have an experience with his glory and something would not change about you. Certainly, somethings would die and others would come alive for you to live and relive the reality of such encounters. An encounter with God's glory brings us into a place of covenant relationship.
Abraham encountered God's glory on the mountain of Moriah where he went to sacrifice Isaac (Gen. 22); Jacob saw this glory in his vision of the house of God and the gate of heaven, where angels were ascending and descending on a ladder (Gen. 28:12); Saul saw his glory on his way to Damascus to persecute the church. The glory shone on him like a shining light (Acts 9:3) and that was the turning point for him, same way the experiences of others earlier mentioned marked the beginning of a journey of faith.
John says, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we BEHELD HIS GLORY, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). You cannot behold His glory and not die to your flesh and carnal desires; you cannot see His glory and not come alive as a regenerated spirit; you cannot see his glory and not enjoy the fullness there is in Christ.
The glory of Jesus that was revealed was "FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH." That is, when you see His glory, you walk into a life of grace! Grace is an embodiment of the overwhelming mercies of God. This is what you get when the glory comes. Truth, on the other hand sets free (John 8:32). God's glory brings freedom. Hallelujah!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Purge yourself of every act of unrighteousness. Examine your life under God's light. Be careful how you handle God's vessel and His purposes over your life. Pray more in the Spirit to stimulate and usher in God's move in your life.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please move in and purge and prune my life to fit into your scope for me. Cause my hope to be renewed as I see You move in my life in ways beyond my imagination while settling all my long standing issues, in Jesus name.
