Description

Believers belong to God's kingdom and operate kingdom principles, one of which is the secret to winning in life. God's word, abiding in you, serves as a source of strength to make you strong. The ability to overcome the wicked one derives from the word that abides in you. To be strong doesn't mean to be hard, to lack empathy or emotional connection to someone's plight. On the contrary, it is to have character, which is, power that's put under control. It is to have liberty but not controlled by it.

To be strong is to be mentally sound and capable of making the right decisions; to be fully in charge of your life, body, soul and spirit. It is to allow God's word dictate and define your boundaries. When this happens, power is released on you to resist the devil and overcome him. What this also implies is that the absence of the word in your life renders you impotent and easily defeated by the devil or life's issues.

When Satan tempted Jesus, they engaged the word. Each quoted the word. Assume with me for moment that Jesus, who's the Word himself, lacked the word to counter Satan? You and I would have been lost in sin forever. It is to your own advantage to let God's word dwell richly in your heart (Col. 3: 16) because you can never tell the day you'd need it as a defence or to launch an offence. Learn to speak the Word to every situation and change the dynamics of events in your life.
