You can never understand the mercy of God until you understand His compassion. His compassion is boundless in reach and wholesome in love. Fail or fall as often as possible, it doesn't change His love towards us. Rather, He keeps chasing after us to bring us back into the fold. Does
He support our sinful and unfaithful ways of living? Not at all. God is too holy to see iniquity. Whilst He frowns at and punishes sin, He loves us unconditionally regardless.
The sure mercies of God prequalifies us for benefits we do not deserve or originally qualify for. The sure mercies of God puts us under His divine protective custody, so no weapon formed against us prospers. His sure mercies delivers us as prey from the teeth of the wicked, ensures nothing devours us. His sure mercies closes the lion's jaws from tearing us apart, delivers us from all evil. When the enemy schemes, God laughs at them in contempt because His covenant of protection over us is still active and unbroken.
Don't let the enemy get under your skin and tell you that you're unloved; don't dare believe his lies that you're worthless and undeserving of God's mercies. Grace picks and qualifies everyone the enemy has put a seal of condemnation on. Grace points us in the direction of God's mercies, pulls us up back again, and leads us on a new path. Grace points us to the cross, mercy makes us accept the finished exchange. Hallelujah! Therefore, I'm no longer guilty, I'm no longer bound, I'm longer afflicted but now the beloved of God, clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Glory to God!
