Description

Jacob indicts us with a challenging perspective to how we relate to God and handle sacred things. Many a time, we would rather complain about the things that are not working than appreciate Him for all that's working, failing to realise that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord (Rom. 8:28). Like Jacob, you don't know how blessed you are because it looked so ordinary. You take for granted the things He does since they look so mundane in routine.

God preserves us even if we think he hasn't done enough; he protects us from what harms others, sorts us out all the time while others get stuck unaided. He works overtime on us, ensuring we do not look like the fire we've been through. His glory covers us like a canopy from the arrows of enemies; his goodness to us is evident to others yet we act otherwise; his love wraps us even when we act so unloved; his mercies over us are new daily yet we tend to act like we've never experienced mercy before, because we do not know it was God doing it all for his name's sake!
