Description

Sometimes, life can be so overwhelming and filled with despair, even for believers. Its aim is to build doubt and make us think God is not as kind to us as we used to believe. At other times, it is a trial of our faith, a passing phase or about the dawn of our morning. In some extreme cases, it is a pointer that we're not getting some fundamental principles right. Whatever the true case may be, our focus here is not the cause of darkness but our reaction to it.

John tells us, "...As Christ is, so are we in this world" (1 John 4: 17b). Christ is God. When darkness crept in on God's created world, he did one thing, He weaponised the instrument of darkness to create a very  beautiful masterpiece. What did He do? He let the Holy Spirit move. Oh yes! When it's all dark around you, don't fidget, despair or throw tantrums. Just let God's Spirit move in. When He does, light will flood your life, clarity will come where confusion once reigned, directions and perceptive will be given to help you chart a new cause or stay focused on same as He works it out!

A translation says the Holy Spirit brooded on the water. To brood is similar to what a hen does by sitting on her eggs to hatch them into little chickens. We need to sit on our darkness until we generate enough energy to incubate solutions. Incubation is the transformation stage that gives birth to a new and beautiful life filled with its own dreams and promises. To brood can also refer to being meditative until new answers
snap out of our spirit. We're encouraged to meditate because doing so creates bigger and clearer pictures in our minds.
