Description

Believers can and should always take advantage of darkness. There are several scriptures that support this, but we shall narrow today's message to focus on just two. Firstly, Moses records this of the Egyptians versus the Israeli, "They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings" (Exo.10: 23), underscores the fact that living under the covenant separates your reality from the outside world. You're a child of light and darkness is not permitted around you!

Secondly, Isaiah encourages us to "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee" (Isaiah 60:1-2). Once your light comes, your immediate response is to rise and shine. If your life hasn't followed this sequence, you need to examine the kind and intensity of the light you received and how, what and where it is focused at.

The thickness and duration of darkness makes the appearance of light much more significant and attractive. Light energises you to rise up and shine; it brings direction, inspiration and illumination to your world. Light unveils your glory and gives you a favourable advantage. Light spotlights not just your physical attributes but also you graces, talents and abilities so that others can recognise God's glory over you. How so interesting that darkness cannot comprehend light, rather, it folds back and dissolves as your light shines through. Hallelujah!
