Topic: YOU'RE NOT AN AFTERTHOUGHT!
Bible Text: John 2:9-10 NKJV
9. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
10. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
INSPIRATION: Oftentimes, life throws clogs in the wheels of your progress, making it look like you would never amount to anything. Failures upon failures, setbacks upon misfortune. Pray as hard as you may, and plan as best as you could, things seem to get more complicated and worse for you. It is at this verge you want to give up, thinking there's something fundamentally wrong about your life. You're not alone in this fight for meaning to all that's happening in your life.
Consider for once what it felt like not to have enough refreshments to entertain your guests on your wedding day! So bad it was for this couple Jesus had attended their wedding. So even when Jesus was present, something still went wrong! But that things go wrong doesn't always mean or indicate you're wrong or finished. It's all Satan's ploy to steal your joy, and God's opportunity to showcase His glory. Storms came too to Jesus's boat, so it is not only you who experiences bad times. Let me quickly note that it is not everytime bad things happen that you attribute it to sin. Jesus did no sin, yet had storms.
The difference however, is that, satan does not have the final say. Sweet wine will be delivered miraculously when shame is about to overtake you; the glory of your latter rain shall be greater than your former. When Satan crucified Jesus, he thought he had won, but Jesus rose on the third day and broke the yoke of sin over our lives forever. If satan had known, he would not have killed Jesus; if he knew, he would never have made you go through your dark moments because the glory that's to be revealed in you because of that situation is going to shock the world. Hallelujah!!!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Keep faith alive in the midst of very negative happenings. Look beyond your storm. Hold on to your beliefs and confession. The storm would pass. See your story turn; See your new and sweeter wine; See greater glory revealed. See!
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please cause me to experience glory and beautiful endings henceforth. May the glory of my latter experiences be greater than anything I've ever been through, in Jesus name.
