The year previous to that Change Healthcare had a data breach of more than 100 million people. The healthcare facility stated that it sent out letters to all patients involved. The information was breached by ransomware hackers.
The information taken was social security numbers, medical coding, patient names, payments, and medication. Ms. Cauldwell stated she reported this breach because she believes these companies are held responsible for online security.to prevent their systems from being breached by scammers who use this information for their gains.
