Walk around the city, what did we see?
Australian Stock Exchange? ALL DIGITAL!
Talk with the only “business man” in the district: was at a sandwich shop across the street and doing some work. He usually works remote but had to come into the city centre for a dentist appointment. Talked a little about what he did (something with sales), sales he would rather work with the Mom and Pop shops than the CIOs and other execs cause they’re not as demanding! Wants to learn AI and probably sees himself out of the job in a few years if / when the company goes public. Deel.com was the website, main competitor is Rippling, but they’re now locked in a lawsuit over corporate espionage! At least there was some business action going on in the BUSINESS DISTRICT!
Had the intent to make it to Chinatown to see what it was like and if the gf would like what she saw. We would get there eventually.
Stopped off at a bullion dealer to see what was on offer. Wouldn’t take foreign credit cards, only Australian. Lots of people inside buying gold and silver.
Up to the old Sydney Mint, which I thought would be similar, but is just a museum now. Right by Hyde Park and is next to the Hyde Park Barracks, one of the first places people would board at when they arrived in Sydney.

Finally made it to Chinatown and the Hay Street Market. Hay Street market was kinda closing down when we got there, a big warehouse of cheap stuff to buy (from China). Chinatown had its dumplings and DongBei dishes.
Walked back to the hostel to sort through videos and podcasts!
