We were filled with apprehension and tremendous excitement as we pulled away from the dock at Springwood Haven Marina. At the tiller, Kevin piloted us under Bridge 28, our first 200-year-old stone bridge. The farms and fields of the Midlands lay before us. A stately English Oak, Cat Tails, and Purple Loosestrife lined the right side of the canal, while the left gave us a view of farms. We were off on our first narrowboat adventure.
