GoDaddy was founded in 1997 by Bob Parsons. Parsons, a former Marine and a self-made entrepreneur, had previously sold his software company, Parsons Technology, to Intuit for $64 million. After a brief retirement, he started Jomax Technologies, which would later become GoDaddy. The company began as a small startup but quickly grew into one of the largest web hosting and domain registration companies in the world.
