Last week, after my show was broadcast, a new 'consumer champion' was sharing his knowledge on saving money when booking holidays.
It was yet another example of half-facts that could cost people money if the advice was followed. Yet again, a TV expert was trying to cram too much in and didn't explain what could go wrong.
A few week's ago, many of his target audience lost money or their holiday when a large travel company ceased trading. It looks like this company didn't have enough consumer protection plans in place. So for this expert to suggest booking holidays without any package holiday protection at all is totally irresponsible.
