Description

Drugs smuggler Michaella McCollum has been released from prison in Peru.

McCollum and Melissa Reid were caught with 11kg (24lb) of cocaine in August 2013. After their conviction I spoke to Matthew Pinches from Prisoners Abroad to talk about the support this organisation gives UK citizens imprisoned overseas.

McCollum's release is a timely reminder of the work that Prisoners Abroad carries out. Remember, a UK passport is NOT a get out of jail free card.

My trip to Jamaica seems a very long time ago. To cheer me up I listened to my interview with Rosemarie Johnson, regional director at Visit Jamaica in Montego Bay.

We had a laugh and I learnt a lot about this country. Another topical subject as the island may become a republic in the near future.

I also have news about the airport at St Helena. Of course, once the show was recorded new developments from St Helena appeared in my inbox. What was it? Visit the show's Facebook page to find out.
