Animals are everywhere when you travel. After all, they are the ideal way to make money from tourists. It could be a physical attraction, such as a turtle farm or dolphin show, or just a photographer offering pictures with a monkey, but how well are these animals looked after?
This is the concern of World Animal Protection. It's recent report has found that in 75% of cases, the animals used in wildlife tourist attractions are treated cruelly.
My guest, Alyx Elliot, from World Animal Protection, talks about the reports findings. The thing is, it's not just small 'back-street' operators that are causing suffering to the animals, it's large 'respectable' companies as well.
So listen to Alyx to find out why you should think twice before having your photo taken with a cute cub or beautiful bird.
Social media is really useful when it comes to researching your travel. I talk about various methods you can use to plan your next trip, and list some useful websites.
That's all on this week's show, where once again I'm checking it out before you check in.
