Description

Back when I left school, travelling around Europe meant getting a train (or hitching).

Now you can just book a cheap flight to most places. However, flying means that you will miss out on making the most of your travelling.

Travelling on buses or trains means you can immerse yourself in the culture of different countries.

Finding train and bus routes can be complicated, and booking flights is a lot easier. So why travel on land?

A number of years ago Naren Shaam decided to take a long backpacking trip across Europe. He knew where he wanted to visit, but planning the best route and finding a cheap
bus or the right train frustrated him.

So he came up with the idea for GoEuro and quit his job in finance, packed up, moved to Berlin to start the company.

I chat with GoEuro COO and MD, Malte Cherdron, to find out more about this app/website.

Ottawa is the capital of Canada. Yes it is, look it up. I chat with Jantine Van Kregten from the city's tourist office to find out why we should visit Canada’s south-eastern capital.

I also share a blog from the UK-ECC about lost baggage and your rights if your airline misplaces or loses your suitcase.

All on this week's show, where I check out before you check in.
